Gottman Couples Therapy Training
Level 2: Assessment, Intervention & Co-Morbidities
Three-Day Training

Level 2: The training takes the overview clinicians received in Level 1, and teaches concrete strategies to skillfully apply interventions using videos from John and Julie Gottman's private practice. Level 2 participants leave feeling motivated to complete a thorough assessment, quickly getting to the heart of each couple's issues. Participants also receive direct feedback as they practice interventions, developing confidence in their new abilities. On the final training day, participants learn from Julie Gottman's video case studies covering complicated cases involving affairs, PTSD, incest, borderline personality disorder, and more. All materials may be used in private practice settings.

  • Note: This workshop is a prerequisite to the level 3 training in Seattle with John and Julie Gottman.

Presented By: Salvatore Garanzini, MFT, is Executive Director of the Marriage and Relationship Counseling Institute, and Certified by John and Julie Gottman to teach Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Also a professor of counseling psychology at the University of San Francisco, Salvatore teaches addiction therapy and psychopharmacology, and brings 10 years of clinical experience to this training. Salvatore has conducted over 2000 couples therapy sessions using the Gottman Method. The Marriage and Relationship Counseling Institute also maintains it's own research department, conducting empirical studies in conjunction with John Gottman's Relationship Research Institute, and supporting graduate students worldwide as they complete master's thesis and dissertations.

  • Standard Registration: $700 (register 20 or fewer days prior to workshop)

  • Cancellation: Registration fees are refundable (less a $100 administrative fee) when a cancellation occurs prior to three weeks before the training. Cancellations after this date will receive a credit, good for one year, which may be applied to other professional programs or products.

Satisfactory Completion: Participants must have paid tuition fee, signed in, attended the entire seminar, completed an evaluation, and signed out in order to receive a certificate. Failure to sign in or out will result in forfeiture of credit for the entire course. No exceptions will be made. Partial credit is not available.
